Blue Eagles aim to extend strong start over struggling Creck

Creck Sporting Club will host Blue Eagles this afternoon, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at A.G. Dimba Stadium in Kapiri, Mchinji, in an FDH Bank Premiership encounter where both sides will be chasing maximum points for different reasons.

The hosts head into the match under immense pressure as they continue their search for a first league victory of the season. Creck suffered a 1-0 defeat to Moyale Barracks last weekend and currently sit second from bottom on the table with just two points from five matches.

Blue Eagles, meanwhile, arrive in Mchinji in better form after earning a 1-1 draw against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in their previous fixture. The Area 30 side occupy fourth position on the log with 10 points and will be aiming to strengthen their place among the league’s early front-runners.

Recent meetings between the two sides suggest a closely contested affair. They have faced each other twice in recent seasons, with both encounters ending in draws. Their first meeting finished goalless before they played out a 1-1 draw in the return fixture, leaving the head-to-head record perfectly balanced.

Statistics from those previous encounters also point to a low-scoring contest. Neither side has managed to register a victory against the other, nor has no meeting between them produced more than two goals. Both teams have also recorded clean sheets in the fixture, highlighting the defensive discipline that has characterised their meetings.

However, current-season form appears to favour Eagles. Creck have conceded seven goals and scored only three in five matches, while Blue Eagles have found the net six times and conceded just three.

With Creck desperate to end their winless run and Eagles eager to maintain their impressive start to the campaign, an intriguing battle awaits at A.G. Dimba Stadium this afternoon.
